How is the blind zone of an ultrasonic level gauge calculated? Since waves also need to be transmitted, does a radar level gauge need to take into account blind spots?

All have blind spots; just set them according to the instruction manual – there’s no need to calculate anything.
Better domestic ultrasonic devices with a 20-centimeter blind spot
This depends on the manufacturer’s instructions; it varies slightly from one manufacturer to another. Generally, ultrasonic level gauges have a blind zone of around 20 centimeters. 15-30 centimeters for the radar; however, ignore the measurement values taken too close to the blind zone, as this may cause fluctuations in the results.
