Eckardt founded the company in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1961, the world’s first pneumatic valve positioner was introduced – the SRP981; On-site installable IP converters were introduced in 1964 ; In 1969, compact transverse bellows systems were used in pneumatic controllers ; In 1974, the SRI982 electrical valve positioner was introduced ; In 1979, Eckardt began production in Soultz, France ; The SRI986 electrical valve positioner was introduced in 1982 ; In 1993, Eckardt and Foxboro were merged within the Siebe Group (now Schneider) ; 1996 SRD991 Intelligent Valve Positioner ; SRD991 with FF H1 protocol in 2002 ; In 2003, the SRD960 intelligent valve positioner was available with HART/Profibus-PA protocols and Exd explosion protection ; In 2006, the SRD series of valve positioners focused on PST functionality ; In 2006, SRD991/SRD960 obtained the SIL3 installed equipment certification ; The SRD valve positioner in 2008 had intelligent diagnostic capabilities ; Integrated into Schneider in 2014. Signal output: 4-20mA & HART 7. Diagnosis: Built-in self-diagnosis function. Supply air pressure: 1.4-6 bar (20-145 psig). Gas flow rate: 3 L/s (6.5 scfm) for single-acting models, 2 L/s (4.25 scfm) for double-acting models. International explosion protection certifications: (ATEX, IECEx, INMETRO, NEPSI). Protection rating: IP 66 / Type 4X. Operating temperature range: –40 ... 85 °C (–40 ... 185 °F). Installation: Can be installed on straight-stroke and angle-stroke actuators as well as on any type of valve. Materials: Housing and cover: Cast aluminum (alloy number 230), with powder coating. LCD display: Supports multiple languages including Chinese, English, German, and French. Knob selector: Rotation of the knob allows for configuration and diagnosis. Troubleshooting: Built-in self-diagnosis with on-site alarm indicators; complies with NAMUR NE107 standards: Normal, Maintenance, Alarm, Out of spec. Life cycle extension: Two additional filtering systems are provided to protect the core of the locator (the IP unit), reducing the pressure on the IP converter and thus extending the lifespan of the pneumatic components; filters can be replaced easily; pneumatic and electronic components are kept separate, and modular accessories simplify performance maintenance. LCD display: Supports multiple languages including English, German, and French. Buttons: Buttons can be pressed to configure the device and for diagnosis purposes. Troubleshooting: Self-diagnosis with on-site alarm indicators, in compliance with NAMUR NE107 standards: Normal, Maintenance, Alarm, Abnormal. Users can easily access the help documents for troubleshooting purposes. Split installation is used for special applications: severe vibration, high temperatures (up to 100°C), high electromagnetic interference, and radiation. Features of the smart locator SRD series: switching between forward and reverse action without the need to replace or add any hardware! Digital input (allows the valve to assume a specific state when the locator receives this input), output (limit hard signal output, alarm hard output, etc.) – optional options ; Optional pressure sensor, valve flow characteristic settings (22 points), automatic shut-off function, valve gain adjustment (automatic or manual). Low gas consumption (60% less than traditional electrical positioners). Gas source requirement: impurities with a diameter of 40 microns must be filtered out! (The piezoelectric valve is so fragile that particles larger than 5 microns must be removed! ) Low load impedance: only 300 ohms during normal control, and only 420 ohms during Hart communication! Low requirement for system drive voltage! Sensitivity: less than 0.1%; Non-linearity: less than 0.4%. Performance and accuracy are minimally affected by environmental factors! It supports all the major protocols currently used in process control buses: Foxcom, HART, FF, Profibus PA…… It can be integrated into any control system without any concerns regarding compatibility The FF version features LAS (Link Scheduling) functionality!
