Hello, experts! I have been working as an instrument technician for 12 years; now there is a shortage of people for analytical instruments, so my manager has assigned me to work on them! How can one learn to use analytical instruments well? What books should be read or are there any recommendations? Where to start? I'm so confused.

With a foundation in field instruments, it becomes easier to work with analytical instruments. Relatively speaking, online instruments place great emphasis on the matching of operating conditions. This is a problem that many people who work on online instrument maintenance are not aware of.
I also spent 8 years working with conventional instruments before switching to analytical instruments; I’d like to offer some advice. First, read the instrument manuals frequently, and second, get hands-on experience – the more fault issues you handle, the more you’ll understand. It involves physical chemistry; the better the pretreatment design is, combined with appropriate maintenance, the smoother the operation of the analysis instruments will be. Nowadays, pretreatment methods are generally quite advanced and readily available. However, with the widespread use of lasers and near-infrared light, many preprocessing methods have been replaced. I studied instrumentation, but right after graduating I have been working with analytical instruments. They may all seem to be field instruments, but there are huge differences between them; take your time.
