I would like to ask for advice from everyone: in environments where substances with high reactivity tend to polymerize, how can flow measurement be carried out accurately and stably, especially for low flow rates? Initially, wedge flow meters were used, but their flange connections tended to get clogged; later, ultrasonic flow meters (of domestic manufacture) were tried, but they also gave inaccurate readings (the manufacturer stated that changes in the medium, along with echoes and the purity of the medium, affect the accuracy of these flow meters). Do anyone have any suggestions? What are the factors that affect ultrasonic flowmeters?
The speed of sound varies in different media; if the composition of this material can be kept within a very narrow range, the values should be relatively accurate.
The problem isn’t solved; I’ll take on the task myself
Wedge flow meters increase the flange size or add a backwash ring
There is a stop valve installed in front of the flange of the wedge flow meter
If the dirty medium clogs the stop valve and prevents it from being emptied, and removing the component is troublesome, it’s better to simply add a backwash ring
What does the backwash ring look like, and how is the flow meter installed?
It is placed between the diaphragm flange and the pipe flange; you can look up information online – I don’t have it either
This has no impact; if the flange is enlarged, a new gauge is required, but it’s not a big deal – it’s essentially like buying a new gauge
