Our plant uses the Ametek 880NSL sulfur ratio meter for its 10,000-ton sulfur processing; it has been in use for 5 years. Recently, we have noticed an increase in malfunctions. Some time ago, the Cal3200 temperature controller also broke down, so we replaced it. However, there are still unresolved issues. First, the ratio meter automatically restarts when two blank keys are pressed at the same time; now this function is not working – pressing those keys has no effect. Secondly, when the power is cut off and then restarted, “RAM test failed” is displayed automatically upon startup, but no parameters are lost, so it does not affect functionality. It happened once before: there was a long power outage, the battery ran out of charge, and the parameters were not saved. I asked the manufacturer for those parameters and then entered them again. Third, the positive pressure ventilation interlock is also broken; we usually bypass it. Fourth, the xenon lamp is also approaching the end of its useful life. Ametek’s service staff were at the site and said that it doesn’t affect usage for now, but it’s time to start purchasing spare parts. You want me to buy a motherboard, a relay board, etc. I checked the prices of these spare parts and it seems they’ll cost around 1 million????. It’s too expensive. After discussing it with the process supervisor, there is concern that Ametek’s sulfur analyzer might suddenly stop working, which could disrupt production; the main worry is that SO2 levels might exceed the allowed limits, leading to problems from the environmental protection authorities. I want to buy a domestic sulfur ratio meter, so I got in touch with the sales staff and technical experts at Hangzhou Juguang.
