What does this symbol mean in the instrument installation diagram?
P/I is the boundary between piping and instrumentation; P represents the scope of piping work, while I represents the scope of instrumentation work. As for whether those two numbers represent the size of the shims, or the distance from the internal thread, etc
H=80,140 represents the length of this component in two different scenarios: it appears to be 140 mm for use in pipes (since the lower end of the bimetallic thermometer should be inserted at the center line of the pipe, which implies that the component should be longer in this case), while it is 80 mm when used in equipment. It could also be due to the different lengths of the insulation covering the equipment/pipes (140 mm if there is insulation, and 80 mm if there is no insulation).
Pipe/instrument is the boundary between pipes and instruments
P/I is the demarcation line for pipeline and instrumentation work; that H represents the length of the straight connection.
These are the P and I referred to in PID.
What was said in the upper floors is correct; H is the length of the mounting base.
P/I boundary line: the P side is responsible for the process design, including material handling. Instrument design on the I side, as well as material and equipment installation. Note that bolt washers are now mainly handled by the process department
