Intermittent production distillation tower, with a medium melting point of 70–90°C and negative pressure inside the tower. When production stops, the material solidifies and the coil ceases to heat. Pressure-type and side-mounted types can be ruled out. What other types of instruments are there? Can external-mounted types ensure accurate measurement? What problems might arise?
It would be good to provide more information: the properties of the medium, whether it is flammable or explosive, whether it is volatile, whether it produces foam, why side installation isn’t possible, and what other products have been used. Have radar, stall resistance, and admittance been considered?
The material consists of a mixture of monophenyl, diphenyl, triphenyl, biphenyl, and benzene; there is no foam present. It contains heating coils, and crystallization occurs on the side when production is stopped. When production resumes, the material cannot be seen during feeding. As for why, it is a requirement of the manufacturing process – preheating before feeding is not allowed. So side mounting is ineffective. Temperature range? Pressure range? Density of the mixture?
Temperature ranges from room temperature to 330 degrees; pressure ranges from -0.2 to atmospheric pressure. The density of the mixture is variable, and as it is distilled, its components keep changing
In either case, it is necessary to provide the level gauge with the best possible environment within its capabilities. I don’t know the liquid level range or whether there is turbulence in the medium. 1. For custom magnetic flip plates, for top-mounted rod types, rod relaxation guidance can be considered, or a suspension rope solution can be used. 2. Radar. 3. Radio frequency admittance. It is recommended to use several levels in combination.
Radar is not feasible; there are heating coils at the bottom of the tank, and half of the liquid level cannot be reached by it. Top-mounted types are concerned that the material may not be able to move freely after steam condenses. Is it okay if the radio frequency admittance is close to the heating coil?
For this level measurement, in addition to consulting the supplier, tests are also required; the supplier cannot resolve all questions. 1. If the liquid level is often above the heating coil, or if the accuracy of liquid level measurement below the coil is not important, a radar test can be used. 2. Can the accuracy of level measurement be considered unimportant when the medium solidifies? If it doesn’t matter, a top-mounted type can be used. 3. The admittance should be asked from the supplier.
