When installing a general-purpose flow meter, attention should be paid to the on-site pipelines, the upper, middle, and lower sections of the flow meter, the areas where gate valves are installed, as well as the spare parts for protection. I. On-site pipelines: When it comes to on-site pipelines, attention should be paid to the installation orientation of the flow meter. The installation orientations for flow meters generally fall into two categories: vertical installation and horizontal installation. Since these two installation methods result in different flow measurement characteristics, the vertical downward flow of fluid dynamics can exert additional forces on the flow meter’s controller, which can harm the meter’s performance and reduce its accuracy and repeatability. II. Upstream and downstream sections of the flow meter: The flow meter is affected by the flow rate at the pipe inlet, and pipe fittings can also introduce flow disturbances. Such disturbances typically include vortices and currents throughout the system; these issues must be addressed by using appropriate lengths for the upstream and downstream pipe sections or by installing flow regulators. Furthermore, there must be a section in the middle and lower reaches of the flow meter to reduce the harm caused by water flow between these sections. III. Installation location of the gate valve: All pipes installed on the flow meter are equipped with pressure regulating valves and safety valves. To prevent disturbances in water flow and cavitation caused by gate valves, pressure regulating valves should generally be installed downstream of the flow meter. Pressure regulating valves placed downstream of the flow meter can also help to improve the quality of the condensate water flowing through the meter, which in turn helps to reduce the likelihood of cavitation inside the meter
