Hello everyone. I have a question: the valves on site are equipped with DVC6200 positioner balls, and the DCS system used is Yokogawa CENTUM VP along with PRM stations. Is it possible to display the valve positions on the DCS without adding any additional instruments? If so, how should it be configured?

The main thing is to determine whether this locator comes with a valve position feedback signal; if it does, then it’s a matter of wiring the configuration.
Those with HART or FF communication functions can display directly
Ask Yokogawa – it’s the most reliable option if you want to obtain the actual feedback values of the valves from PRM. Ask Fisher whether this actuator is equipped with an analog feedback mechanism; only with such a setup can the actual position on site be determined, as it’s not just the actuator itself that matters
May I ask how to display it? What do the various options under HART in the configuration mean?

1. Improve valve position feedback: 1) After confirming that the on-site valve model and the control unit support Hart communication, select it in the channel settings of the system; 2) Go to the Hart variables setting, enter the hardware channel corresponding to the instrument in the Channel field, and select the instrument parameters for the Data field. For the Fox 520MD, the default values are FV+DS for the fourth parameter and the device status. The Samus 3730 defaults to SV+DS as the second parameter + device status. Once completed, you can download and use the Hart Terminal channel on this page. 3) Enter the system configuration tool Control drawing builder to create control diagrams, add PVI blocks, and introduce Hart channels to implement the PVI function blocks; after adding the relevant parameters to these blocks, they can be deployed for use. 4) Once completed, just debug it and it’s ready to use.
