Have you ever seen a project where cables are laid down before the equipment is installed, the pipes are connected, or the instruments and valves are put in place?
Impressive. At that time, have the equipment and pipelines installed around the cables.
If the points are available and an approximate location for the gauge is known, it’s understandable to want to speed things up
Under normal circumstances, instrument installation takes place after the location of the main process pipelines has been determined; at that point, work begins on installing supports and cable trays, as well as the actual instruments. Once the location is determined, cable laying and other tasks begin. It’s a bit hasty to release some cables at this early hour. Moreover, the installation locations for the process pipelines and instruments have not yet been determined; therefore, laying cables hastily is neither in line with regulations nor reasonable.
There’s no need to rush; we have to wait until all the other processes are completed first. Otherwise, it’s not possible to insert the cables into the tubes, and it can also lead to waste, which is not worth it.
That’s how I carry out the work; given the tight deadline, I have no choice but to do it this way. It’s difficult to find people for marking out the lines, and I usually start preparing for that once the project is more than half complete. It’s easier when there are blueprints available; without them, it’s a hassle, as I have to reserve a few extra wires
What kind of device is it? Is it instrumentation equipment or process static equipment? , What kind of pipeline is it? Are the instrument pressure conduits, industrial pipes, and valves still not installed? Can the installation location of the valves already be identified on the pipes? Normally, once the instrument tray is in place, it can be installed provided that the owner is not concerned about material waste; any resulting waste will have to be borne by the owner. If no protective tube is provided, no one knows how many meters of cable should be used. For industrial pipelines, it’s more or less straightforward; if the layout plan of the instrument locations is accurate, then the appropriate amount of cable can be used. If too much cable is used, it can simply be cut off later. In any case, it was agreed with the client that the extra cable length will be taken into account when doing the final calculation. It’s normal for the owner to have the money to do this; they just want things to move forward and there’s nothing that can be done about it

A refinery in Dongying has recently added a waste acid treatment unit, but work has been delayed due to pipeline issues. At the site, only the main cable trays have been completed; the branch cable trays haven’t been installed yet because the pipe trenches haven’t been built, the locations for the devices haven’t been determined, and the instruments haven’t been installed either. Not a single pipe has been connected yet. The client demanded that cables be laid, with each cable having to reach the farthest point in the facility, including spare cables as well. As a result, what was originally planned to be 30,000 meters of cable ended up being 90,000 meters
If the design depth is sufficient and the comprehensive layout has been completed, it is not impossible. If the design depth provided by the design institute reaches the level of construction drawings for all items, multiple sections can be constructed simultaneously ； If the design provided by the design institute includes only large-diameter pipes and major components, with other components being designed separately by the construction party, this is clearly a sign of poor project organization.
