Can SIS have indication and alarm functions?

SIS is used only for interlock actions – does it have to have only interlock functionality and no indication or alarm functions? Can there be indication and alarm functions? Are such indication and alarm functions necessary? For example, a pressure transmitter PT-0101 can only be PS-0101, not PIAA-0101? If it only has interlock function, then can’t the opening/closing status of the shut-off valve be indicated? However, the status of the valve position switch definitely needs to be fed back to the SIS. Gentlemen, please help explain how to understand this!
