The steam consumption is approximately 2 tons per hour, but the pipe diameter is DN300. What type of flow meter should be used in this case?

Is it saturated steam? What are the temperature and pressure? Maximum and minimum flow rates? It seems that neck reduction is necessary at first glance :)

1. Turn off the valve on the pipeline and create a bypass (using a pipeline with a smaller diameter), which is equivalent to blocking the original 300-diameter pipeline. 2. Use an orifice plate, one designed for a smaller diameter. 3. The concern is that if you’re currently handling a flow rate of 2 tons, there’s a possibility that in the future you’ll need to handle higher flow rates; in that case, you’ll have to buy another flow meter. Consult the process engineers to find out whether the flow rate is expected to increase in the future. If not, use the first method; if it will increase, then you need to discuss this with your supervisors, as you’ll still need to purchase a flow meter once the flow rate rises
