This article mainly shares the key points to consider for automating the liquid separation process in batch production, based on practical experience. 1. The settling time is sufficient. If there are bubbles in the medium and the upper layer of the medium is very viscous, increase the settling time appropriately, and consider using negative pressure or other methods to accelerate the removal of the bubbles. 2. After multiple washes, the components of the inner layer medium will differ after stratification, allowing the identification criteria to be adjusted in a timely manner. 3. The faster the response time, the better. Currently, the response time of STU01 can reach 50ms. It features fast response times, which allows for shorter pipeline lengths between the instrument installation location and the valve, facilitating pipeline layout in confined spaces. 4. The probe has a small size. The smaller the size, the better the versatility in installation. Currently, STU01 can be installed on pipes of DN50 and above. 5. Pipeline medium flow velocity. The higher the flow rate, the greater the scouring force on the probe, which can achieve the effect of cleaning it. It is necessary to take into comprehensive consideration factors such as the response speed of the instruments, the installation location of the valves, and the available space for piping. 6. Identify multiple boundaries at once. Currently, when the operating conditions are suitable, STU01 can perform a single liquid separation operation while identifying the air, the upper layer medium, the middle layer, and the lower layer medium. Analyze specific operating conditions individually. 7. Since the stratification interface is not an ideal plane, trade-offs are necessary. If a clean upper medium is desired, the valve should be switched on above the interface level. It is inevitable that some of the upper medium will be lost.
