In tank areas where explosion protection is required, for the solenoid valves on the pneumatic valve supply pipelines, which are powered by 24VDC, can the signal for opening and closing the valves as well as the feedback signals be transmitted using a single multi-core control cable?

Theoretically, it’s possible. If the feedback from the design or the AO of the control valve is intrinsically safe, try to separate it from explosion-proof cables. Intrinsic safety Ia can be applied to explosion-proof Zone 0.1.2
Let me tell you what’s wrong with the way you’re doing this Theoretically, both the DI and DO signals are digital signals (the valve position switch is mechanical in nature and not a NAMUR signal); therefore, they can be transmitted via a multi-core cable. However, when you bring the multi-core cable to the valve, you’ll find that there is no inlet for the signals. The inlets for these two signals must be separate, which means you’ll need to split the cable. But since this is an explosion-proof area, to ensure explosion protection, explosion-proof sealing connectors are required. If you split the cable, it will no longer be intact, and gaps will appear at the points where it connects to the sealing connectors; as a result, the sealing connectors will lose their ability to provide explosion protection. It depends on how thorough the safety checks are; if they are thorough, it will be impossible to pass the explosion-proof requirements here.
Some on-off valves feature a multi-core cable that enters the signal junction box, from which another outlet leads to the solenoid valve; this type can be used.

The on-site personnel said that after handling it on site, these signals can be routed out from an outlet on the valve side
