For an electromagnetic flowmeter, is the on-site grounding the signal grounding or the body grounding?
To put it more clearly, electromagnetic flowmeters have grounding via a grounding ring or grounding electrode
Essentially, it is the “zero signal” for measuring voltage that is grounded.
Do both the grounding ring and the grounding electrode need to be grounded?
The body of the electromagnetic flowmeter must be grounded, the flanges must be bonded together and then grounded, and the grounding ring must also be grounded. These three points are usually connected together and then grounded.
Thank you. The electromagnetic flowmeter itself here isn’t grounded, but the flow rate display is correct; it seems that corrective action is needed. Could you provide some pictures of the wiring for the electromagnetic flowmeter?
What is shown in the table body is protective grounding; it’s not necessary to connect the 24V DC one. A grounding ring is required for metal pipes, while for non-metallic pipes, some manufacturers provide a virtual grounding option; in such cases, no grounding ring is needed and no connection is required.
A grounding ring is used in non-metallic pipes or pipes with insulating linings, right?
