What is the purpose of adding a solenoid valve to a locator?
The control valve also serves as an interlock shut-off valve, eliminating the need for an interlock on-off valve in that pipeline.
It is mainly used for emergency shutdown; the shut-off speed of the solenoid valve is much faster than that of the positioner
Solenoids are used for quick shut-off, while positioners are used for adjustment. The exhaust speed of the solenoid valve is higher than that of the positioner block, thus enabling rapid shut-off. Make sure the solenoid valve is installed downstream of the positioner.
It can be adjusted as well as switched off, which saves costs, and meets the SIL1 level requirements.
