May I ask if seamless pipes should be used for the air supply pipe? We use 304 for the material
Materials are one aspect; another consideration is that for gas supply pipelines with a small diameter (DN25) or less, Tube pipes are used, and high requirements are placed on the surface finish of these pipes, which are connected using compression fittings; Pipelines over 1 inch in diameter can use pipe with union fittings.
For diameters of 12 mm or less, use TUBE with bayonet connection; for diameters of 20 mm or more, use PIPE piping. They are all seamless pipes with a PN10 pressure rating.
Equipment with low gas consumption (regulating valves, on/off valves, etc.) made of 304 stainless steel in sizes ф6*1, ф8*1, and ф10*1. The branch air supply pipelines with diameters of DN15, DN20, and DN25 are made of galvanized seamless pipes. The main air supply pipeline is made of stainless steel.
Why such detailed division? I wrote 304:L; I didn’t specify any requirements regarding seamless tubes. I think this is to ensure pressure resistance, so I’m wondering if it’s sufficient as long as the pressure requirements are met
Are seamless pipes designed to withstand pressure?
Is this based on construction experience, or are there somewhere where the requirements can be found?
I checked the chemical industry standards; there are no requirements regarding seamless or welded types
