Let’s discuss whether the instrument air supply is being properly implemented: dust content less than 1 mg/m³, oil content less than 1 ppm
Production plants are generally divided into several sub-factories internally. Compressed air equipment is typically found in the power sub-factory. When pneumatic equipment in other sub-factories operates under the influence of the air supply, the performance of the power sub-factory needs to be evaluated; however, this usually doesn’t cause any issues. It’s important to replace the air filters and oil-water separators of air compressors on schedule. Generally, an oil-water separator and a refrigerated dryer are also installed after the air compressor, followed by an adsorption dryer. Under such conditions, there should be no problems at all—it all depends on proper maintenance: ensuring that cleaning and replacements are carried out as needed. Some even simply install an online dew point analyzer at the dryer’s outlet to prevent the dryer from being overloaded.
One more point: the particle size should not exceed 3 um
