Hey everyone, what does the phrase “electronic or electrical continuous variable or binary signal” mean? Which interlocking signal lines use binary signals? If anyone knows, please give me an example. Thank you!

From an engineering perspective: A signal is represented as a set of data or waveforms, which are usually obtained by some detecting instrument (sensor) from a physical system. These data are recorded on paper, stored on some magnetic medium, or displayed in some form on the instrument’s screen.
