The contactless technology without moving parts minimizes maintenance needs, thereby extending its service life. This series mainly includes Rosemount 3101, 3102, and 3105. Among them, 3101 is mainly used for measuring liquid levels, with a 4–20 mA signal output ； Models 3102 and 3105 can calculate the distance to the surface, capacity (volume), or open-channel flow rate, and output it as a 4–20 mA digital HART® signal. An integrated temperature sensor continuously measures the temperature around the transmitter. Then, it calculates the speed of sound in the air and automatically compensates for the effect of temperature on the calculated distance. In addition, the Rosemount 3102 and 3105 also include an optional remote temperature sensor. The Rosemount series is part of the various Rosemount level measurement devices provided by Emerson.
