A steam pressure transmitter on site shows -0.004 MPa; there is no pressure in the pipeline. The client requires that the reading be 0, with no negative values allowed. I am thinking of using the sensor’s fine-tuning function on a HART transmitter to set the reading to zero. Is this approach feasible?
It’s feasible, but there’s no need to do it; does it have a negative impact on operations?
Just calibrate the current value to 0; with Emerson’s model, there is a Z button for this purpose.
Your relationship with the owner isn’t in order; take him out at night and have a couple of jin of baijiu, and even if the reading shows 0.4 later, they won’t blame you. It’s obvious they’re looking for faults
Just change the unit to KPA
This post was last edited by qugd on 2022-11-10 at 10:33. Just replace it with a gauge that measures absolute pressure; it seems to be a gauge that measures gauge pressure. When there is no flow in the steam pipeline, the condensate pressure in the pipeline may drop below normal atmospheric pressure due to heat dissipation; as a result, a gauge measuring gauge pressure can show a negative value. Using a gauge pressure meter will prevent negative values from appearing.
