As shown in the figure, when determining the installation height of the transmitter on site (with the instrument column being 1.4 meters tall), there were differing opinions among various parties. Are there any standards specifying the installation height of the transmitter?
It is recommended to refer to SHT3551; 1. Meet process requirements ; 2. Easy for maintenance and inspection ; 3. Do not obstruct the maintenance and inspection pathways of other equipment ;
Generally speaking, except for instruments installed directly on pipelines, the installation height of field instruments is such that the display panel is 1.2 m above the ground or floor level (with the column height typically being 1.4 m).
No requirements, as long as it is easy to maintain
When measuring remote pressures of slight positive or negative pressure, it is best to install them directly on the pipeline or equipment; otherwise, the liquid level in the pressure tap tube will significantly affect the measurement accuracy! :)
The installation height of the transmitter should generally allow maintenance personnel to easily carry out maintenance and inspections, and it should be in a favorable installation environment free from risks such as damage, corrosion, or water intrusion. It does not affect normal traffic in the plant area, and the pressure tapping pipelines are constructed in accordance with specifications ; However, the installation height of the transmitter is also related to the height of the pressure sampling point; it is generally required that the installation height be at the same level as that of the pressure sampling point. 1. A height difference can lead to a decrease in accuracy, so such differences should be avoided ; 2. Avoid long-term negative pressure on the gauge diaphragm box to prevent damage to it ;
No specific requirements; it is sufficient to meet the inspection and maintenance standards
. There are no special requirements; ease of maintenance and observation is sufficient. Personally, it is recommended that the height of the process interface not exceed 1.4m, as this reduces the risk of facial injuries in case of splashing or leakage (taking women’s height into account).
