Does anyone know how the cold-end compensation is performed for the MTL4575 barrier after it’s configured as a thermocouple? Is it done in the barrier configuration settings, or is there a temperature sensor on the hardware of the barrier itself?
MTL4575 is an isolated safety gate for temperature sensors, which can be used in various industrial applications. If you set it as a thermocouple, it usually requires cold-junction compensation. Cold-end compensation is intended to ensure the accuracy of temperature measurements, allowing them to remain precise even when the ambient temperature changes. MTL4575 offers two types of cold-end compensation: internal and external. For internal compensation, the MTL4575 integrates an low-temperature coefficient resistor (LTC) that enables automatic compensation. For external compensation, you need to use an external thermocouple connected to the cold junction terminal on the safety barrier in order to perform manual compensation. The user manual for MTL4575 contains instructions on how to perform internal and external cold-end compensation.
