As shown in the EJA gauge pressure transmitter, its measurement range extends up to -100 kPa; does this mean it can be used in vacuum conditions? Since gauge pressure can be measured down to -100 kPa, why are there absolute pressure gauges as well? Is it just because the display values in the table headers for the two are different? Please, experts, help me resolve my confusion

Gauge pressure meters and absolute pressure meters exist primarily to meet different application scenarios and requirements. Some applications require measuring pressure changes relative to atmospheric pressure, while others need to measure pressure changes relative to vacuum. Therefore, choosing a gauge pressure meter or an absolute pressure meter based on actual needs allows for more accurate measurement and interpretation of pressure values. .
I have a question: I’ve seen absolute pressure transmitters being used to measure the inlet pressure of air compressors. Why is that?
