There are multiple heat exchange stations; on-site, there are several temperature and pressure display instruments as well as several circulation pumps (with local control). Now, we want to switch to remote monitoring (no need for on-site control, as the distance is 50 kilometers), so that alarm messages can be detected promptly in case of any faults. Do you have any reliable communication solutions?
The DCS manufacturer is responsible for data collection and for setting up wireless or wired transmission devices to send the signals either directly or into the communication company’s network; once received in the control room, these signals are converted into standard signals for monitoring. Most heating systems use this approach.
Use fiber optics, or else use GPRS for communication!
50 kilometers – it’s not practical to lay fiber optic cables by yourself. I’m not sure what system is in use on site; it would be great if there were a WEB publishing function, with access via China Telecom or China Unicom’s networks.
Thank you for answering my questions! The site only has a few indicator gauges and several local pumps; there is no control system, and it now needs to be upgraded remotely!
We have too few points, which makes it unsuitable for DCS; can we use some other control system instead?
Contact the manufacturer of the data collector (you can reach out to the DCS manufacturer), and have them recommend a solution for transmitting data via the communication company’s network.
GPRS communication should work; I saw that it’s available on those environmental data collectors.
I guess I can only use wireless GPRS transmission.
