In the field instrument cabinet room, the exterior walls facing the direction of the explosion wave are designed as reinforced concrete blast-resistant walls; can the exterior walls facing the direction away from the explosion wave be designed as non-blast-resistant walls?

From a regulatory perspective, only the impact resistance of the blast-resistant surface is considered. However, in previous new projects I was involved in, the entire cabinet room building was equipped with a comprehensive blast-resistant structure. Only for some renovation projects, where it is not possible to modify the entire building, is separate renovation of blast-resistant surfaces considered. There are such companies in the country that can provide renovation plans as well as verification calculations for the modified designs. Also, borrowing the big brother’s post, I would like to ask the experts a question: if no embedded components are installed in advance in the walls of blast-resistant walls, is it permissible to use expansion bolts on the exterior surface of such walls to fix steel plates for supporting cable trays? A colleague from our team, who is familiar with our structure, said that after reviewing the blast resistance regulations, they don’t prohibit doing this; it should be possible to install supports on the wall on site. This is a great question; it comes up frequently in the field!
It is not suitable to drill holes in blast-resistant walls. When it is necessary to pass cables or the like through, the diameter of the hole shall not exceed Φ200mm; reinforcing steel bars should be installed near the hole, and the hole must be filled tightly.
