Recently, the Information and Communication Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the list of industrial internet pilot projects for 2023, which is divided into seven categories – including new technologies, factories, platforms, industrial parks, networks, and security – along with 24 specific areas of focus. Compared to the list of industrial internet pilot projects in 2022, the new list includes a \"new technologies\" category; a total of 236 projects are on this list, including several projects from the petrochemical industry as well as projects related to chemicals. Pilot projects in the field of new technologies include the digital platform project for the intelligent manufacturing plant of high-performance lithium battery cathode materials at Yibin Libao New Materials Co., Ltd. Pilot demonstration projects in the factory sector include Zhongce Rubber Group’s 5G Future Factory, Lianyungang Petrochemical’s 5G+Industrial Internet fully connected factory project, and Chongqing International Composite Materials Co., Ltd.’s pilot application demonstrations of “5G+Industrial Internet” in the new materials industry. Carrier-based pilot demonstration projects include the Industrial Internet Digital Transformation Promotion Center for the petrochemical industry at Hubei Yihua Group Co., Ltd. The park-based pilot and demonstration projects include the industrial Internet project aimed at the digital transformation of the petrochemical and phosphorus industries as well as industrial chain collaboration, which was jointly submitted by the Yunnan Anning Industrial Park Management Committee and Yunnan Yuntianhua Information Technology Co., Ltd. Network-based pilot demonstration projects include the chemical industry network upgrade integration and data interoperability application project carried out by Dongtu Technology (Yichang) Co., Ltd. Platform-based pilot and demonstration projects include Nanjing Keyuan Smart Technology Group Co., Ltd.’s intelligent management platform for the safe production of hazardous chemicals based on the industrial internet; the innovative applications of Unicom Digital Technology Co., Ltd.’s intelligent management platform for safe production in the field of chemical and new material manufacturing; CNOOC Gas & Power Group Co., Ltd.’s project for intelligent management of safety risks; Hualu Hengsheng’s intelligent management platform for safety, environment, and emergency response; Yonyou’s intelligent platform combining the industrial internet with safe production of hazardous chemicals; Shandong Jingbo Petrochemical Co., Ltd.’s platform that integrates the industrial internet with safe production of hazardous chemicals; **Pipeline Group’s solution for “industrial internet + safe production” tailored for oil and gas pipelines; Shandong Rongxin Group Co., Ltd.’s platform for high-end chemical manufacturing based on “first-level safety standardization and the industrial internet”; Jiangxi Fusion Technology Co., Ltd.’s integrated management platform for safety and the environment in chemical parks; Ningbo Bohui Chemical Technology Co., Ltd.’s safety management platform based on the industrial internet; Sinopec Xinxing Xinjiang Green Hydrogen New Energy Co., Ltd.’s smart factory using photovoltaic green hydrogen technology; Guangye Mingdao Digital Technology Co., Ltd.’s green and low-carbon smart factory designed for the yellow phosphorus industry; Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum’s comprehensive energy supply chain coordination solution based on an industrial internet platform; and Shandong Ludexin New Materials Co., Ltd.’s collaborative innovation platform for the geosynthetic materials industry based on the industrial internet. The pilot demonstration projects in the field of security include the project for building comprehensive protection capabilities for industrial information security at Cangzhou Mingzhu Lithium Battery Diaphragm Co., Ltd., the project for strengthening the security of the control systems in the petrochemical industry in Maoming carried out by Beijing Guotai Internet Information Technology Co., Ltd., and the comprehensive network security protection platform for industrial enterprises developed by Sinochem International (Holding) Co., Ltd. It is reported that the process for submitting applications to be included in the list of industrial Internet pilot projects began in 2018. To date, 6 batches of lists containing a total of 513 projects have been announced. The aim is to further improve the development and integrated application of facilities such as industrial Internet networks, identifiers, platforms, and security systems, as well as to identify and promote more new models, business formats, and use cases, thereby fully leveraging the important role of the industrial Internet in enhancing quality, reducing costs, increasing efficiency, promoting sustainability, and ensuring safety.
