The antenna has been further optimized, and the new high-speed microprocessor enables faster signal analysis, allowing the instrument to be used in applications involving solid materials, process vessels, or environments where dust tends to crystallize or form condensation. So why are radar level gauges widely used in cement plants? Radar level gauges are used for measuring granular materials. In cement plants, the raw materials are mostly granular; in some cases they are in solid form, such as limestone, raw coal, shale, etc. The semi-finished product, clinker, is also a granular material that is stored in tanks or silos. These materials all have a angle of repose, as well as reflective surfaces. Based on the pile angle and surface condition formed by the feed, once the effective measurement range has been determined, it is recommended to use a non-contact radar level gauge, namely a radar level gauge with a lens antenna. If a contact-type radar level gauge is used, it will generate a large downward pull on the cable, leading to accidents.
