The following replies are not part of the text in the attachment and are provided for reference only: Specifications for setting liquid level gauges in storage tanks: AQ 3059-2023 “Safety Management Specifications for Liquefied Hydrocarbon Storage Areas in Chemical Enterprises”. 6.6.2 For newly built pressure-type storage tanks for liquefied hydrocarbons, liquid level measuring instruments should be installed in one of the following two ways: 1. Two sets of continuous liquid level measuring instruments and one high-high liquid level switch; or 2. Three sets of continuous liquid level measuring instruments. Pressure-type storage tanks for liquefied hydrocarbons shall be equipped with alarms for high liquid level, low liquid level, high-high liquid level, and low-low liquid level. The high-high liquid level alarm should trigger the interlocking shutdown of the emergency shut-off valve for tank feeding.
AQ 3053-2015 \"Safety Technical Regulations for Vertical Cylindrical Welded Steel Storage Tanks\" 12.2.2 Level control: For storage tanks holding flammable liquids, level gauges as well as high and low level alarm devices, and high-high level alarm devices must be installed in accordance with the requirements of the standards and operational needs; the alarm signals and level information must be transmitted to the control room.
For tanks that are operated frequently, it is advisable to install automatic interlock emergency shut-off devices. Large tanks should be equipped with low and high liquid level alarm devices, high-high liquid level alarm devices, and emergency shut-off devices, and interlocking measures should be implemented between the high-high liquid level alarm and the emergency shut-off device. Emergency shutoff valve interlock buttons should be installed outside the fire dike and at the control room operation station. When a high level alarm or a fire occurs in the storage tank, it is possible to remotely or manually close the feed cut-off valve; once the cut-off valve is closed, an automatic interlock stops the feed pump.
GB 50341-2014 \"Code for Design of Vertical Cylindrical Welded Steel Oil Tanks\" does not specify the number of level gauges regarding the design of the liquid level height.
AQ 3036-2010 \"Code for the Installation of On-site Safety Monitoring Equipment in Tank Areas for Major Hazardous Sources of Hazardous Chemicals\" 4.3.2 At least one level of alarm should be set for both high and low liquid levels; the alarm thresholds are respectively the high-level limit and the low-level limit. 6.3.1 The storage tank shall be equipped with a level monitor that provides alarms for high and low liquid levels.
