Electromagnetic flowmeters used with non-metallic pipes require the installation of a grounding ring. Electromagnetic flowmeters must be properly grounded; for metal pipes, built-in grounding electrodes should be used, while for non-metallic pipes or metal pipes with linings, a grounding ring is preferable.
