Xi’an Dinghua Electronics reminds everyone that when selecting a radar level gauge, it is necessary to take into account the effects of stirring and vacuuming, as well as pay attention to the power supply and output signal. 1 When agitation is present, radar level gauge manufacturers recommend against using guided wave radar in tanks with agitation, as the forces generated by agitation can easily pull the cable of the guided wave radar into the propeller, or bend the rod of a rod-type guided wave radar. Therefore, one can only choose contactless, high-frequency or low-frequency horn radar. If the lowest liquid level at the site is above the stirring propeller, it generally has no impact on measurement. If the lowest liquid level is below the stirring propeller, it is necessary to use the false echo function to filter out the signals reflected by the propeller, thereby ensuring that the propeller is not considered as a target during measurement. 2 Selection under vacuum conditions: Under vacuum conditions, the boiling point of a liquid is much lower than it is at standard atmospheric pressure. Many liquids begin to boil at 30-40°C. For example, in the reaction vessels and evaporation tanks used in pharmaceutical factories, this is exactly what happens: when there is no vacuum, the liquid remains calm; but once a vacuum is created, a liquid layer that is 1 meter deep can rise to a height of 3 meters, filled with boiling foam and tiny water droplets. In this case, only a horn-shaped radar can be used, and certain modifications need to be made on site; for details, you can contact the customer service of Xi’an Dinghua Electronics. 3 Power supply and output signal: The power supply for radars is generally 24VDC in the market. If the customer requests 220VAC, then a switching power supply that converts 220VAC to 24VDC can be used. The radar output signals are available in 4-20Ma and 485 formats; 4-20Ma is the dominant type at present and is widely used in industrial applications. There are very few 485 users; they are generally used in applications that require low power consumption, such as in water resources and hydrology, as well as for flash flood warnings. Xi’an Dinghua Electronics Co., Ltd., established in 1992 and currently located in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, is a high-tech enterprise that specializes in the research and development, production, sales, and engineering services of radar level gauges. At present, the company offers a range of products including radar level gauges, external liquid level meters, fork-type level switches, electro-hydraulic actuators, ultrasonic flowmeters, and external thermometers. All of these products have withstood numerous complex operational conditions in real-world settings, and they are widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemicals, power generation, coal mining, metallurgy, as well as food and pharmaceuticals.
