For those to be integrated into pipeline installations, pressure resistance must be taken into account; flow meters that can withstand 35 MPa must be extremely expensive. Vortex flow meters are also not cheap. In such cases, external ultrasonic flow meters might be the most cost-effective option
This post was last edited by qqgd on 2025-12-14 at 19:20. It is better to use high-pressure vortex flowmeters; firstly, they have a wider measurement range and lower pressure loss. If the range is not sufficient, two vortex flowmeters with different diameters can be used in sequence for measurement. This flow rate is quite substantial; it’s approximately 35,000 cubic meters per hour flowing through a DN65 pipe, which is a very high flow rate. I roughly calculated using vortex flowmeter software; with flowmeters of 50 or 80 diameter, there should be no major issues. Mass flow meters are a bit expensive; other differential pressure type flow meters do not have high accuracy. Ultrasonic flow meters require precise calculation of the flow velocity of the medium in the pipeline, and it is necessary to select an appropriate range.
