On the synthesis furnace, the hydrogen orifice plate flow meter gradually shows an increasing reading every other half day; the reading is about 200 units higher than the actual flow rate. When water is released from the three-valve assembly, the situation returns to normal, but the reading increases again after another half day. Even after replacing the flow meter’s gauge head, the same problem persists. There was no solution other than shutting down the furnace and examining the orifice plate, which showed no signs of deformation. The pressure pipes were also cleaned using air supply tubes, and there was no blockage. A new gauge head was installed, and after zeroing the meter with the three-valve assembly closed, and with no flow in the pipeline, the reading still increased to -126 after a day. I’m really puzzled – what could be causing this issue? With other furnaces that are shut down, the flow meter doesn’t show any change at all. In my opinion, this phenomenon is due to the fact that the positive pressure measurement isn’t flowing smoothly – there’s a blockage, but it’s not a complete blockage.

In your case, it’s most likely an issue with the three-valve assembly or the transmitter. Is it because of the hydrogen you measured? Diaphragms that are not gold-plated are prone to hydrogen embrittlement and need to be replaced regularly; the simplest solution is to replace them all.
That’s right, I think the same way. A low-flow meter cut-off can be set in the table header.
