Are the equipment from the instrumentation specialty involved in the hydrostatic testing, purging, and chemical cleaning of pipeline equipment? This issue does not seem to be mentioned in the instrument’s own construction specifications. However, it is mentioned in the pipeline-related documents, but different standards seem to be contradictory: 1. Hydrostatic testing – some pipeline standards require it, while others do not. In the actual implementation of projects, certain instruments and valves can withstand the hydraulic testing of pipelines, so they are tested together, such as throttling elements and automatic control valves. However, in the professional design of instrumentation, none of the documents mention the need to conduct pressure tests on the pipes; they only specify the design pressure. Yet, the pressure tests for pipe equipment are usually carried out at 1.5 times the design pressure, and under such pressure, the pressure instruments simply cannot withstand it. So I understand that it is because of the voltage resistance characteristics of certain instruments that they can be used in hydrostatic tests, with the aim of accelerating the construction progress. But I still need to confirm with the manufacturer on site. 2. Purging: This is quite clear – none of the instruments or control valves are involved, and the purging operation is entirely outside the scope of the design. 3. Chemical cleaning: This seems to be a bit ambiguous; sometimes the design is consulted, while other times it is carried out without any consultation. 4. Pressure leakage test (leak detection): Typically, the pressure does not exceed the design pressure, and all instruments and automatic control valves are involved in this process
