What lubricant should be used for the O-rings in the programmable valve cylinder?

The O-ring in the programmable valve cylinder has worn out after being removed; a new one needs to be installed. After installing the new O-ring, I want to lubricate it, but I’m not sure what kind of lubricant to use. The factory has ester-based lubricants, but I’m worried that they might corrode the O-ring. Any colleagues who know this could please advise me
A bit of neutral Vaseline can be used, but how does an O-ring usually get worn out? Is it due to design reasons or material aging?
We all use lithium-based glycerin; sometimes we also use good engine oil. Vaseline is not available, and it’s not possible to buy it on our own, so just using some kind of grease will do. Corrosion? This kind of product already comes with glycerin in it, I think……
