Installation distance of the thermometer

A thermometer or thermistor is installed behind the three-way temperature control valve with mixed hot and cold streams; to ensure accurate data, was there any consideration in the design regarding the distance between the thermometer or thermistor and the three-way temperature control valve, in terms of several pipe diameters?
There are no requirements regarding the installation distance for the thermometer, but it must be located at an opening in the pipeline, away from the welds, primarily to avoid stress concentration
