Can coke oven gas be used directly as the feed gas for the sulfidation of hydrogenation catalysts? Will the catalyst get clogged during vulcanization if benzene, naphthalene, and tar have not been removed?

For iron-molybdenum and nickel-molybdenum, the circulating sulfidation feed gas is prepared by mixing coke oven gas with nitrogen in a specific ratio
Coke oven gas can be used as a sulfiding gas, but one drawback of this method is that the sulfiding process takes a relatively long time. Nowadays, the more common approach is to inject a sulfiding agent into the system; carbon disulfide is generally used for this purpose, though dimethyl disulfide is also employed in some cases.
There is a sulfurizing agent added, as there is a concern that benzene, naphthalene, and tar might clog the catalyst; TSA does not allow high-concentration H2S-containing sulfiding gases to pass through.
