The 0.35MPa nitrogen pipeline generates significant noise at the flow restriction orifice plate (with a pore diameter of 58 mm, the noise level is 105 dB); the environmental protection authorities are imposing heavy fines, so I urge experts to come up with solutions to help.
Whether this throttling design is reasonable needs to be recalculated by the establishing institute.
High nitrogen flow rate results in high pressure drop; reduce the amount of nitrogen used. Check if there is a manual valve in front of the orifice plate; try closing it partially.
1. Recalculate the lower flow-limiting orifice plate to see if the value can be reduced; if one orifice plate doesn’t work, multiple orifice plates can be used in series; 2. If space permits, a soundproof enclosure can be added ; 3. You can try using the manual valve in front of the orifice plate for throttling to see the effect.
Multiple orifice plates can be installed for multi-stage pressure reduction, or the pipe diameter can be appropriately reduced
Thank you all for your help. I wrapped 2 meters of insulation material around the inlet and outlet sides of the orifice plate, and it seems to have made a big difference; this should completely solve the problems associated with using a multi-stage orifice plate

A perforated plate that can become a porous structure will result in lower sound levels.
