Who knows the difference between Texaco furnace and space furnace processes?
The simplest difference lies in the method of feeding the material: Texaco uses slurry of coal and water, while the Space Furnace uses pulverized coal. As a result, the processes for preparing the raw materials are different, the structure of the burners is different, and the types of gasification furnaces differ as well (Texaco’s furnace uses refractory bricks, whereas the Space Furnace uses water-cooled walls). The requirements for the raw materials also differ (the Space Furnace can tolerate coal with higher ash content and lower ash melting point), and the composition of the products differs as well (the Space Furnace produces gas with a higher effective content). The treatment of the black water generated is roughly similar in both cases

First, regarding the raw material preparation stage, GE uses wet mills while space furnaces employ dry mills; the process flows and operating methods for preparing raw materials in these two types of gasification processes are essentially different. Next is the raw material transportation section; GE uses pumps for transportation. Not only in space furnaces, but for all dry coal powders as well, gas-phase dense flow transportation is employed, with CO2 or nitrogen typically being used as the transport gas.
