Signing of design contract for the first phase of Yulin Energy Group’s 400,000-ton coal-based ethylene glycol project

On November 30, 2018, the signing ceremony for the project design contract of the 400,000-ton capacity phase I of Yueneng Group’s coal-based 1.2 million tons per year ethylene glycol production project was held at the group company. At the signing ceremony, Yueneng Group Company signed design contracts with China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd., Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., and Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd., respectively. Yuneng Group’s 400,000 tons per year ethylene glycol production project uses coal as a raw material to produce syngas; CO and H2 are separated through gas purification, and ethylene glycol is synthesized indirectly via coupling and hydrogenation. As by-products, clean energy-related chemical products such as DMC, crude ethanol, mixed alcohols, sulfur, liquid oxygen, and liquid nitrogen are produced. The project is located in the southern area of the Qingshui Industrial Park within the Yushen Industrial Zone in Yulin City, covering a total area of 1,711 mu, with an estimated investment of 5.8 billion yuan. Completion and commissioning are scheduled for April 2021, with a construction period of 30 months.
