For space heating furnaces, the coal quality is poor – it’s mainly local coal from Guizhou, with an ash content of over 20% and a ash fusion point of around 1500. Moreover, the quality of this coal varies over time, with a pH level of around 6. Various cationic polyacrylamide flocculants were tried, but none proved effective; the turbidity of the ash-water mixture also fluctuates significantly. I would like to ask experts: what type of flocculant is generally used in space heating furnaces these days?
It’s probably due to the quality of the coal; we use that from Zhongnan and Tianmai

Given the long-term fluctuations in coal quality, it cannot be resolved by a single flocculant, or rather, by a single flocculation process.

A selection has been made; many different types of flocculants were considered, with cationic polyacrylamides having a high molecular weight generally being the preferred choice. After installing it, it either fails to stay stable or its performance is not as good as that in the small experiments.

If it sometimes works well and sometimes doesn’t, it’s probably not due to the medication. We just haven’t found the root cause yet. Changes in conversion rate as well as variations in the particle size of the coal slurry can both have an impact on water quality
The quality of water varies from time to time due to fluctuations in coal quality; as the type of coal changes frequently and it is burned in combination with other fuels, the proportions involved are also uncertain. If the variations in coal quality are so severe, it is quite difficult to find such a solution; it would be better to have several chemical manufacturers conduct tests
