The project to add a coal grinding C-series unit to the gasification plant of Sinopec Anqing Branch was one of the key tasks during the major renovation of Anqing Petrochemical in 2019. It involved constructing a new gasification unit within the existing framework of the plant. The construction required working at great heights, with the top level of the framework reaching 92 meters; the space available was limited, and the plant had to continue operating while construction took place. As a result, equipment installation presented significant challenges and high safety risks. During the construction process, the Anqing project team overcame numerous difficulties, acted proactively, organized tasks efficiently, continuously optimized the construction plans, and arranged the construction procedures in a proper manner to ensure the safe, high-quality, and efficient progress of the project. There are 2 large pieces to be lifted for the coal ash filter, weighing 35 tons and 25 tons respectively, with a lifting height of 92 meters. On September 18–19, 2019, the project team, taking into account the actual conditions, used an 800-ton crawler crane for the lifting operations. The two large-scale lifting tasks were completed safely and successfully, laying a solid foundation for the completion and operation of the project.
