Dear experts, what are the factors that affect high benzene content in low-oil products?
Low oil content means high benzene content, which indicates incomplete benzene removal. The causes are mainly sought in the benzene removal tower, such as the top temperature of the tower, the amount of superheated steam, and the preheating temperature of the rich oil.
1. The efficiency of the benzene removal tower is low; this may be due to low temperatures at the top and bottom of the tower； 2. There is leakage between the rich-oil and lean-oil heat exchangers; rich oil is entering the lean oil stream. It is necessary to check for leaks in each of these heat exchangers, shut them down, and replace them.
