The annular gap between the rising and descending tubes in the water-coal slurry gasifier is small, resulting in severe water contamination in the syngas. Wouldn’t increasing this annular gap help reduce the amount of water present? Are there any disadvantages to increasing it?
How is the blockage in the annular gap between the downcomer and the upcomer cleared, and how are the downcomer and the upcomer separated?
Previously, in our cleaning team, we would first use tools to remove the hard parts, and then use high-pressure water guns to deal with the softer parts. I’ve seen some companies remove the internal components and then have people go in there and use hammers to handle them.

The Texaco furnace has risers, while the new four-nozzle gasifier does not have risers, so there is no issue with annular gaps.
