Can the desulfurization solution used to remove hydrogen sulfide from coking gas be reused to remove sulfur dioxide from coke oven flue gas? Is there any such use?

Desulfurization liquids are generally capable of removing hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide primarily.

The solution used for removing hydrogen sulfide is strongly alkaline, while that used for removing sulfur dioxide is weakly acidic; the removal process itself is not a problem, but the consequence is that hydrogen sulfide ends up in the atmosphere. Don’t do anything silly.
