To all members and relevant organizations: China’s modern coal chemical industry has made significant progress over the years of development, and a new phase of high-quality growth is set to begin during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. To cope with the severe impacts of current low oil prices and the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the numerous uncertainties in the development environment in the post-pandemic era, China’s modern coal chemical industry must face challenges head-on, take proactive actions, strive to enhance its internal competitiveness, overcome external constraints, and create a new landscape for industry development despite these difficulties. To this end, the China Coal Processing and Utilization Association has scheduled to hold the Conference on Gasification Technology and the Development of Modern Coal Chemical Industry during the 6th China International Exhibition on Clean and Efficient Coal Utilization on November 8, 2020. Focusing on the high-quality development of the modern coal chemical industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the conference will examine the approaches and methods for technological innovation, the advancement of the industry, cluster-based development, and sustainable growth, while also facilitating in-depth exchanges on the significant engineering experiences already accumulated in this sector. Main contents of the conference: (I) Industrial policies and industry trends 1. Analysis of the development of China’s petrochemical and chemical industries during the 14th Five-Year Plan period ； 2. Pathways for the high-quality development of China’s modern coal chemical industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and analysis of the impacts of low oil prices, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the development of the petrochemical industry on modern coal chemistry ； 3. The path for the green development of China’s modern coal chemical industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period ； 4. Optimization and Upgrading of the Layout of the Modern Coal Chemical Industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period – An Analysis of the Impact of High-Quality Development in the Yellow River Basin on the Layout of the Coal Chemical Industry ； 5. Analysis of the opportunities for modern coal chemical industry to drive the development of new energy and new material industries. (II) Technological Innovation and Industry Progress 1. Analysis of the innovation paths for key technologies and equipment in the modern coal chemical industry ； 2. Gasification-based co-treatment of hazardous waste: solutions and practical applications ； 5. Advances in catalytic gasification and hydrogenation gasification technologies ； 6. Application practices and development prospects of gasification islands ； 7. Sharing of operational experience with large-scale advanced gasification technologies ； 8. Large-scale air separation technology, key equipment, key equipment for coal gasification, and domestic progress.
