Recently, further good news came regarding the installation work of the gasification unit for Yushen Energy Chemical Company’s 500,000 tons per year coal-based ethanol project – the pulverized coal lockhopper 1216-V-202 was successfully hoisted into place. It is reported that the total height of the gasification framework for the main structures of the ethanol project’s gasification unit is 94 meters. The structure above the 38-meter level is made of steel, while the part below that level utilizes a concrete framework along with steel columns covered in concrete; this results in a complex structure that makes construction extremely difficult. The pulverized coal hopper that was lifted this time is a key component of the pulverized coal transportation system in the gasification unit. It has a diameter of 4 meters, a height of 16 meters, and a weight of around 112 tons. It belongs to the category of vertical pressure vessels of type III. The staff at Yushen Company’s gasification center overcame various difficulties, coordinated closely with the construction team, and used an 800-ton crawler crane for the main lifting operation, along with a 260-ton crawler crane to assist in transferring the load. As a result, the equipment was safely placed at the 42-meter level of the steel framework, completing the lifting task successfully. The successful lifting of this coal powder lockhopper marks the timely completion of the first milestone task in the autumn campaign for the ethanol project, and it also creates favorable conditions for the subsequent installation of the 51-meter-high steel structure.
