On October 26, good news came from the Shaanxi Provincial Association for Science and Technology: in the 2021 Shaanxi Provincial enterprises’ “Three New and Three Small” innovation competition, Yan’an Energy Chemical’s project titled “A high-pressure flash vaporization device for ash water in water-coal slurry pressurized gasification” won first prize; \"A Ash Water System for Pressurized Gasification of Water-Coal Slurry\" and \"A Valve Spool for High-Temperature Mixing Valves\" won the third prize. It is reported that this innovation competition was jointly organized by the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, the Shaanxi Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the Shaanxi State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Its aim is to thoroughly implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by **** during his visit to Shaanxi, to support the development of the Qinchuangyuan innovation-driven platform, to deepen the integration of the two relevant industrial chains, to adhere to an innovation-driven approach, and to create a favorable innovation ecosystem among enterprises across the province. “A High-Pressure Flashing Device for Ash Water in Water-Coal Slurry Pressurized Gasification”: This technology addresses the safety risks for workers and environmental concerns related to air pollution by making minor modifications to the gasification process; it allows the gases used during startup and shutdown to be burned in high-pressure hydrogen-rich flares. \"A High-Temperature Mixing Valve Spool\": During the commissioning of the gasification sulfur recovery unit in 2019, to address issues such as process gas leakage caused by vibration of the high-temperature mixing valve stem, as well as valve head fractures that required shutdowns, our company developed independently a mixing valve spool that is resistant to high temperatures, sulfur corrosion, and impacts, and features a rational design. This spool ensured the long-term stable operation of the unit and reduced the environmental risks associated with flue gas emissions from the sulfur recovery unit. \"A Ash-Water System for Pressurized Gasification of Water-Coal Slurry\": This project addressed the issue of wastewater containing ash, which posed a challenge to wastewater treatment, by implementing measures such as adding return pipelines at the outlet of the vacuum flash evaporation condensate pump in the gasification unit. As a result, operating costs were reduced, the frequency of cleaning the filters on the degassing water pumps was decreased, and the stability of the unit’s operation was improved.
