What is the difference in the impact of dry quenching and wet quenching on coke production? In other words, for every 1 ton of coal fed into the furnace to be converted into coke, what are the differences in output when wet quenching and dry quenching are used?
When adjusted to the same moisture level, the output of dry quenching is slightly higher, while in the case of wet quenching, some of the coke ends up in the quenching water system.
By removing the moisture and converting it to dry joules, the yield of wet quenched coke should be higher, right?
In dry quenching, there is coke burnout, while in wet quenching, some of the coke ends up in the quenching tank; it’s difficult to provide overall statistics in such cases.
Dry quenching of coke generates a lot of dust, which is removed by the dust removal station.
Based on long-term statistical data from various coking plants, the transaction rate for dry quenched coke is lower than that for wet quenched coke due to losses associated with burning. If the price of coke is adjusted to reflect the same moisture level, then dry quenched coke and wet quenched coke would have identical prices; in such a case, using dry quenching serves only environmental benefits and offers no economic advantages.
