On December 4, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment accepted the environmental impact assessment report for the 1.8 million tons per year coking upgrading project of Shanxi Meijin Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. Construction location: 300 m northwest of Wangmingzhai Village, Jiaocheng Economic Development Zone, Shanxi Province. Total investment: 1,190.92 million yuan, of which the investment in environmental protection amounts to 160.88 million yuan, accounting for 13.51% of the total investment. Nature of the project: On-site technical renovation project. Construction contents: The main tasks include demolishing the existing 4×72-hole SCD43-03 type ramming coke ovens along with the associated wet quenching systems, as well as 1×140 t/h dry quenching system; constructing 2×70-hole JNDX3-6.78 type single-heating ramming coke ovens, and setting up 2×170 t/h dry quenching facilities. Enclosures will also be installed around the coke ovens and on both sides of them ; The existing coal preparation systems will be completely removed and replaced with new ones ; Partial renovation of the coking treatment system ; Except for the final cooling and benzene washing unit in the existing gas purification equipment, all other gas purification systems have been upgraded ; The wastewater treatment plant relies on the existing biochemical treatment system for phenol-cyanide wastewater ; Upgrade supporting public auxiliary facilities, etc. The purified coke oven gas is transported via existing gas pipelines to the adjacent project of Shanxi Runjin Chemical Co., Ltd., where it is comprehensively utilized in the production of ammonia, urea, and LNG. Shanxi Meijin Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. has a coke production capacity of 1.8 million tons per year, with 900,000 tons per year for the first phase and another 900,000 tons per year for the second phase. The main body of the original coke oven is a rammed coke oven of the SCD43-03 type with 4×72 holes, a height of 4.3 m and a width of 550 mm. It is equipped with a heavy media coal washing plant capable of processing 2 million tons of raw coal per year, as well as a comprehensive chemical product recovery system. For this technical upgrade, production equipment has been replaced with new units as much as possible in line with the principle of improving equipment standards, while maintaining the same production capacity.
